BBQ Chicken Wing

Whee. Went for school today for Projects' Day Grand Finals ushering. The uniform was really funky looking, but extremely hot, what with long-sleeved shirts and brown long pants. ^___^ The tie was nearly throttling me, though. =S

So we went to Ops room (4M) for our briefing, and was promptly shooed out 1 minute later to the auditorium, where I -finally- learnt my role! Firstly, I was supposed to stand at the front door with Chin Seng to usher parents/invited guests to their seats. Was really malu when I mistook a teacher for a parent. .__.'' Saw my St. John senior who had passed out, Sir Jonathan Tham! He was doing a project on "Growing Up", and was the only Sec. 4 group to have made it into the Grand Finals.

At about 8.30am, then went to the back door and stood there for a long, long, time. Managed to see the first portion of Sir Tham's presentation. He used such a wide plethora of vocabulary, and perfectly demonstrated his Literature expertise. No wonder he won the Lit Symposium. ^_^ But JUST as his movie was about to be screened, we were shooed out of the auditorium to help prepare the refreshments. =( Scowled unhappily as we watched all the students devouring the food in, what, 5 minutes? But thankfully, my St. John friend (Gu Chao) was there, and he helped me kope some of it, including 2 cups of orange juice and a miniscule sandwich. ^_^;; *guilty look*

Went back to back door ushering... missed Leefy's group (consisting of Sexy Hands and someone else) as well. -_-'' Watched this rather weird presentation consisting of fruit peels, then a Chinese one involving dui lians. Suspected they would be in top 3, as their project was really well-polished and detailed. Discovered that me and Alvin were supposed to go back to 4M and slack, so we got Zi Yang and Qian Xiang to replace us.

Was in the process of showing Jia Chen, Alvin and David o2jam_colanana, but just 30 seconds into the video, we had to prepare the reception again... sigh. Was practically drooling at the sight of the dim sum, so was really disappointed when all the VIPs and teachers koped it all. =(

Anyway, after that, it was pretty smooth. Cleared up all the food and stuffs, and went back to 4M for debriefing. Was expecting Mr. Tan Chee Wee to scold us or something as he looked rather angry, but in the end, he seemed to be hovering between the borders of being angry and happy. =S

Awards (according to Zi Yang):
1st Prize: The Chinese dui lian group
2nd Prize: Leefy's group! ^^
3rd Prize: This really gruesome anti-war thingy. Unsure of what their rationale was, though.

Sadly, Sir Tham's group did not get in... but it's really an extremely remarkable achievement to have made it into the Grand Finals already. ^^

So here I am back home, slacking horrendously... =.=

Shall start training my Pkmn. Sapphire team.
